Picture this: You’ve just had your dream hair appointment and you’re walking out of the salon with your dream hair but how do you make it stay your dream hair once you’ve gotten back into your everyday routine at home?
Simple, consistent at home hair care. We want all of our guests to leave feeling confident in the fact that this look will last them until their very next appointment. This starts with an expert (us) filling you in on all the tips, tricks and secrets on how to care for your hair at home.
Consistency
Before we go into anything hands on you should know that consistency is key when it comes to your hair care routine. Find a routine that really works well for you and your hair then stick to it. We promise taking care of your hair at home will become a lot easier when you make it a habit. All of the tips and tricks we have for you are only useful if you’re incorporating them into your daily and weekly routines and trust us, you’ll notice a huge difference in the longevity, look, and feel of your hair extensions when you do.
Future Appointments
This is something you can easily do at home! Make sure you’re planning your appointments in advance. This goes hand in hand with consistency. The more consistent you are with your move ups, color, etc the better your hair will look at home. This can be as simple as planning out what dates your appointments fall on for the month or looking to see when you have an event coming up to schedule an appointment in advance. It’s a small step but it makes a huge difference. Your maintenance appointments are just as important as your first!
Heat Protection
Using any heat tool on your hair without using some kind of heat protectant is the number one way to damage your hair. This one might be an obvious tip but we all need the reminder from time to time. Make sure you have a good quality heat protectant in your product line up at all times. Not only will this help keep the look and feel of your extensions healthy but also prevents any heat damage to your natural hair. We want to make sure we’re taking care of both!
Satin Products
Your hair care routine doesn’t stop once it’s time to go to bed. This is one of the most important tips we give our guests and it’s to sleep with satin – a satin pillowcase or satin bonnet. These items help prevent breakage while tossing and turning while you sleep. Cotton and other materials can pull, tug, and cause friction resulting in breakage and/or frizz but with satin your hair glides on and off of the material. Plus, what a luxurious way to up-grade your night time routine!
We all love that “I just got my hair done” feeling when leaving the salon and we don’t think anything can top it but we do think incorporating these tips can get you pretty close to it. We want you to feel confident in the salon and out of it too which is why we created a go to list of tips and tricks you can use to make sure you’re taking really good care of your hair at home. With consistency, protection and the right products you can ensure that your hair extensions look just as good as when you first got them done.
